What is a CSA?
A CSA is a partnership between farmers and consumers where members purchase a share of the upcoming harvest. This arrangement provides farmers with essential upfront capital for seeds, equipment maintenance, and labor, while members receive regular distributions of fresh, locally grown produce throughout the season. This model promotes shared responsibility and risk, strengthening the bond between the community and its food sources.
Benefits of Joining a CSA
Freshness and Quality: Members receive produce harvested at peak ripeness, ensuring superior taste and nutritional value.
Supporting Local Farmers: CSAs provide farmers with financial stability, allowing them to focus on sustainable land stewardship and crop diversity.
Community Engagement: Participating in a CSA fosters a sense of community, connecting members with the people who grow their food and with fellow members through farm events and shared experiences.
Environmental Stewardship: Local food systems reduce the carbon footprint associated with long-distance transportation and often employ organic or low-impact farming practices.

Each week you'll choose from the wide selection of vegetables we grow. There's something new with each season-from spring greens, herbs, and asparagus to the colorful array of summer tomatoes and peppers, and concluding with sweet fall root vegetables and winter squash. You'll also be able to swap in or add on local meat, cheese, fruit, milk, yogurt, sauerkraut, and more through our online CSA system. When you're away, you can put your box on hold and you'll only pay for the weeks you receive.
Pickup options:Sunrise CSA members choose their vegetables at the farm each week from among the various options. If you never want to eat kale, you never have to choose it. On the other hand, we have kale (and lots of other greens) available almost every week. The CSA share also includes plenty of pick-your-own herbs, peas, green beans, and flowers.
You have a choice between two pickup days, either Tuesdays or Thursdays, any time between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. You decide which day when you sign up.
