  • Dia De Los Muertos Celebration

Join us at Kilton Public Library for a special Día de los Muertos celebration, featuring live mariachi music and hands-on art activities! Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a joyful Mexican holiday that honors deceased loved ones through vibrant shrines filled with offerings of food, drinks, and gifts. Rather than a day of mourning, this holiday celebrates life and memory. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own ofrenda (offerings) to add to our communal shrine. These ofrendas commemorate and celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed, and the shrine will grow as the community contributes. We’re excited to feature a live mariachi performance by Dartmouth student Cesar Almeida Jr., who will guide us through the vibrant sounds of traditional Mexican mariachi music. Be ready to clap, stomp, sing, and dance along! This event is made possible through the generous collaboration with the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth, and we are grateful for their partnership. All are welcome to this free family celebration, and we look forward to sharing this beautiful cultural tradition with the community.
