Upper Valley Connections
Issue No. 21 · August 27, 2026
Summer’s easing into its last stretch along the river -- the light’s already got that early-September slant to it, and Main Streets around the Valley picked up a familiar rhythm this week now that school’s back in session. This issue keeps things simple: live music, a few good reasons to get out on a weeknight, and a full slate of farmers markets.
Upper Valley Connections is a free, independent community newsletter. If you run a local business, add your listing -- it’s free to start. Have an event coming up? Submit it to the calendar. Paid tiers help keep this going every Thursday.
Two small markers of the season this week. Local schools started back up this week, which means earlier evenings, school-zone traffic, and that particular late-August rhythm returning to Main Streets around the Valley. And the free Lake Morey Summer Concert Series wraps its run tonight with Muscadine Bloodline at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee -- gates at 6pm, music at 8.
Tonight: Lake Morey Summer Concert Series closes out the season with Muscadine Bloodline at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, VT. Free admission, gates at 6pm, music at 8. Bring a chair.
This week’s highlights include a quilt exhibit at Billings Farm, AVA Gallery’s 10x10 benefit, Sawtooth Kitchen’s weekend karaoke and dance nights, a hair-styling workshop for dads in Hanover, and a local book launch in Woodstock -- plus a full week of farmers markets.
